Earthquake of Magnitude 5.4 Strikes Andaman Islands

Andaman: In a latest update, an earthquake shook the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday afternoon. According to the reports of the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake was of magnitude 5.4. No casualties reports have been reported yet.

It is to be noted here that German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) stated that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.07 on Richter scale. Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the earthquake that shook the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was measured 5.5 on Richter scale.

Taking to X, the National Center for Seismology posted, ''EQ of M: 5.4, On: 09/11/2025 12:06:28 IST, Lat: 12.49 N, Long: 93.83 E, Depth: 90 Km, Location: Andaman Sea.''
