Weather Today: IMD Issues Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Alert for 13 States, Winds May Reach 80 kmph

New Delhi: People suffering from the heat are now going to get some relief. The Meteorological Department i.e. IMD has given an alert of heavy rain in 13 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal. In the next few days, it will rain heavily in Eastern and North-East India.

Along with this, strong winds will also blow at the speed of 50 to 80 km per hour. In such a situation, many places may get flooded, traffic may come to a standstill and there is also a danger of landslides in the mountains.

Where will monsoon rains increase?

The south-west monsoon is advancing rapidly. In the next 4-5 days, it will reach new areas of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and South Chhattisgarh. As the monsoon increases, the rains in these states will also increase.

There is also an alert for fishermen - do not go to the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea till June 19.

How will be the weather for Delhi-NCR people?

The weather of Delhi-NCR is going to change between 15th to 17th June. It will be cloudy, there will be light rain, accompanied by lightning and strong wind. There is a yellow alert for June 15. Wind speed can go up to 40 to 60 km per hour.

Where will it get wet in UP?

There are chances of rain and thundershowers in Kushinagar, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ballia, Mau, Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra of UP.

There is also yellow alert in Mathura, Aligarh, Etawah, Agra, Firozabad, Etah, Mainpuri, Kanpur, Jhansi. Between June 18 and 20, rains will become more intense in eastern UP.

When will there be storm and water in Bihar?

There may be rain with thunderstorms in West Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas and Aurangabad. Monsoon will reach Bihar in 4-5 days. There will be heavy rain in many areas on June 16. During this period, strong winds of 50 to 70 km per hour will also blow.

Where is the storm-rain alert in Rajasthan?

Strong storm, lightning and rain are expected in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Alwar, Sriganganagar. There is alert in the entire state from 15 to 20 June. At some places the wind can reach a speed of 60 to 80 km per hour.

What will be the weather condition in the mountains?

Rain will not stop in Himachal for the next few days. There is an alert of storm and strong wind between June 15 and June 18 to 20.

There will be light to moderate rain in Nainital, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri, Almora, Tehri of Uttarakhand. There will be rain and strong wind at some places in Jammu and Kashmir also.
