Visakhapatnam: Today, such a sight is going to be seen on the sea coast of Visakhapatnam, which will fill every Indian with pride. A grand event, the International Fleet Review (IFR 2026) is being organized in this city called 'City of Destiny'. President Draupadi Murmu herself will review this amazing marine display.
President Murmu will visit the indigenous warship INS Sumedha in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday morning. This ship is an Indigenous Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel, which will play the role of the president's 'yacht'. As soon as she approaches the fleet, a 21-gun salute will be given. This moment will not only be ceremonial but will also become a symbol of the strength of the Indian Navy and the President being the Supreme Commander.
A total of 71 ships and submarines from 19 friendly countries along with the Indian Navy are included in this Fleet Review. These include big names like America, Russia, Japan, Australia. Some countries are participating for the first time, such as Germany, the Philippines and the UAE. The main attraction was India's first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. This ship is an example of self-reliant India and is showing the whole world that we can now rely on ourselves.
Apart from the sea, the sky will also resonate. More than 50 fighter planes and helicopters will fly past. The roar of MiG-29K fighter jets, LCA Tejas, P-8I reconnaissance aircraft and Sea-King helicopters will be heard far away. Together they will create a show that will take the viewers' breath away.
MARCOS of the Navy, considered to be the most dangerous marine commandos in the world, will also show their mettle. They will perform special operations, combat power and rescue demo in the middle of the sea. Anyone will be surprised to see his bravery and skills.
This event is not just a show. This meeting is part of the Milan 2026 exercise, which is running from 15 to 25 February. It includes navies of more than 70 countries. Its objective is to strengthen maritime security, increase mutual cooperation and maintain peace in the Indo-Pacific region. India's 'United Through Oceans' theme reflects this.
Overall, today Visakhapatnam is witnessing a wonderful combination of India's growing naval power, indigenous technology and global friendship. This moment is a proud moment not only for the Navy but for the entire country.
