National News:India's space journey is no longer limited to technological advancement, but it is becoming a symbol of global diplomacy and leadership. Taking a new step in this direction, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chairman V. Narayanan has announced a major collaboration. He said that India and America will jointly build a state-of-the-art geopolitical satellite, which will be launched entirely from India.
This satellite will not only monitor the earth's surface and atmosphere, but it will be equipped with radars and sensors with high technical capabilities which will collect photos, data and monitoring material while revolving in the Earth's orbit.This data will be utilized for critical applications such as weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and surveillance of ground-level activities.
Narayanan also informed that ISRO is working on another important project, in which a satellite is being built which will be dedicated to monitoring climate change and air pollution. This satellite is being prepared especially for the G-20 countries.The objective of this project is to enhance global environmental monitoring and advance research capabilities.
Speaking at the fifth convocation of the Central Agricultural University in Imphal, Narayanan described India's space journey as "unprecedented and glorious". He said that this journey, which started with the launch of the first satellite 'Aryabhatta' in 1975, has reached 131 satellites so far. This journey is a clear sign of moving from self-reliance to world leadership.
ISRO has successfully launched 433 foreign satellites from 34 countries into space so far. Apart from this, 10 satellites are actively working for India's internal security and surveillance. This achievement not only reflects scientific power but also defines India's global role.
The ISRO chairman shared another big dream towards India's space future.“Our aim is to establish India’s own space station by 2040,” he stated, calling it a source of great pride.He described it as a source of "pride and inspiration" for the nation. This station will not only be a testament to technological excellence, but it will also define India's central role in global space research.
