New Delhi: On Thursday, the administration demolished illegal constructions by running bulldozers in the Imam Chowk area of Chaumun town in the Jaipur district. The step was taken days after an incident in which stones were pelted at a police team near the mosque and several police personnel were injured. The administration is now following the politics of “action against what is wrong.”

After all, how did the controversy start?

The matter started a few days ago, when an attempt was made to remove stones and illegal encroachment on the road in front of the mosque. Earlier some people were removing the obstructions while coming together, but later there was a situation of local protest against those things and even stone pelting. Now a strict stance has been taken against pelting stones at the police.

Who was harmed by the bulldozer?

In the bulldozer campaign, those illegal constructions were demolished, which, according to the administration, were encroaching on the roads and public space. Notices had already been given to many houses and shops, but this action was taken when they were not removed within time. The work proceeded amid heavy police presence.

What did the police do for security?

During the action, the administration deployed a heavy police force in the area. Surveillance was maintained through drones and CCTV so that any kind of rumor or tension does not spread again. Police said that it is first and foremost important to maintain law and order.

What was the reaction of the local people?

Some local people believe that illegal encroachment had been increasing in the Imam Chowk area for many years, causing problems for the common people. Many people say that this action of the administration will now bring back convenience to the market, pedestrians, and roads. The officials have clearly said that this action is not against any particular community but against illegal occupation.
