Srinagar: After Operation Sindoor, Jaish-e-Mohammed's network has almost disintegrated. Many positions were destroyed, and many of his men were killed. Under this pressure, they are now trying for a big attack. Intelligence agencies fear that the organization is planning to repeat incidents like Pulwama, which could include vehicle bombs or suicide attacks.

How did the government get the alert?

Intelligence agencies have sent a formal alert to the Jammu and Kashmir administration regarding this conspiracy. The immediate effect of the alert was visible, and security arrangements were increased in the entire state. Orders were issued to monitor suspicious people and vehicles.

Can a strategy like Pulwama be used again?

Most indications show that Jaish intends to adopt the same method that it used in the attack of 14 February 2019. Agencies believe that a suicide bomber could be sent by filling a vehicle with explosives in South Kashmir.

Is there danger in other states also?

The danger is not limited to the valley only. It has also been told in the intelligence input that Jaish is also preparing for major attacks in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. The role of ISI is being explained in this entire scheme.

How has security changed in Jammu and Kashmir?

After the alert, security forces have increased vigilance in the entire state.

  • Patrolling has been intensified in sensitive areas.
  • Every passing vehicle is being checked on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
  • The data of vehicles stolen in the last months is being scrutinized so that no suspicious vehicle can breach the security.

Is Vaishno Devi Yatra also on high alert?

Security for Vaishno Devi Yatra has also been strengthened after a suicide blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. Additional forces are deployed at every turn from Katra to Bhawan.

In Katra

  • Checking has been increased at checkpoints
  • Constant monitoring is being done at bus stands, registration centers and crowded areas.
  • Every incoming and outgoing vehicle is being seriously checked.

Police, CRPF, and other agencies are fully alert on the buildings and routes. Officials said that keeping the pilgrims' journey safe is the first priority.
