New Delhi: The CBI, with the assistance of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, has achieved a major success in bringing back notorious criminal Lakhwinder Kumar from the United States. Lakhwinder Kumar was wanted by the Haryana Police in several cases, including serious crimes such as extortion, intimidation, illegal possession of weapons, and attempted murder. He is said to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
At the request of the Haryana Police, Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice against him. He was subsequently deported from the United States and arrested by a Haryana Police team upon landing at Delhi Airport on October 25th. It should be noted that the CBI operates through Interpol to track fugitives internationally. Over the past few years, more than 130 criminals have been extradited to India with Interpol's assistance.
Lawrence Bishnoi is a notorious Indian gangster, known as the leader of a criminal organization operating primarily in North India. He was born on 12 February 1993 in the village of Dutarawali (or Dhattaranwali) in the Fazilka district of Punjab. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang's network extends from India (Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat) to Canada, the United States, and Portugal. It is estimated that over 700 shooters are active in his gang.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in jail. His case symbolizes an emerging threat within the Indian underworld, stemming from student politics and extending to a global network. Although he denies all allegations, an investigation is underway based on the evidence. Lawrence Bishnoi's name was widely reported in connection with the threat to Bollywood star Salman Khan. He also came to light in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
