During the National Executive meeting of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) held in Bihar’s capital Patna, Lalu Prasad Yadav was once again declared the national president of the party. He will now hold this position until 2028. For the first time during the meeting, Rabri Devi openly spoke about the family dispute, saying, “Every household has divisions. What difference does it make if we speak?”
Targeting the NDA government, Rabri said, “They gave nothing to Bihar, while our government provided factories. If they had done any real development, there would be no need to roam around among the public today.”
While addressing the RJD’s National Council meeting, Lalu Yadav said, “I thank all of you. You have placed your trust in me. We will never let the party bow down. Tejashwi Yadav works day and night, looks after everything, and goes everywhere.”
He added, “You all are also dedicated to party work. The election time is near. We must all stay united.”
Lalu stated that it is important to tell the poor what the BJP is doing against the people. “We have put Tejashwi at the forefront. Elections are approaching, and we must give Tejashwi responsibility.” He added, “I don’t worry about my health. Every night, I ask Tejashwi what’s happening and when. Surveys are being conducted to decide who the candidates will be.”
Following this, Tejashwi Yadav congratulated Lalu Prasad Yadav on being re-elected unopposed as the RJD national president. He said, “This is a moment of pride not just for RJD but also for crores of poor and underprivileged people in Bihar. On behalf of the people of Bihar, I congratulate Lalu Ji. Even today, his ideology and struggle are an inspiration to all of us.”
Tejashwi made the party's election strategy clear, stating that now only those who work among the people will get party tickets. He warned party workers that merely holding a position in the party is no longer a guarantee of a ticket. “Only those who fight for the people will be given responsibilities. This time, we need a revolution, not just a change in power.”
Tejashwi Yadav targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying, “2005 to 2025 is more than enough, Nitish Ji. You should consider your age. It’s time to resign and take rest.”
He added, “Amit Shah himself said that Nitish Kumar will remain CM only until the elections; after that, time will tell.” Tejashwi called this a betrayal of the public.
The RJD leader also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits to Bihar.
He said, “Every time the PM comes, ₹100 crore is spent in one go, but what does Bihar actually get? Any special package? Any AIIMS, IIT, or industries?”
Tejashwi expressed deep sorrow over the murder of industrialist Kemka in Patna last night.
He said, “Even earlier, his son was murdered. We had held a candle march for them then. Now, once again, the same family has been attacked. This shows that crime is out of control in the state.”
Taking a jibe at a JDU government minister, Tejashwi asked, “Has anyone seen the so-called professor minister appear in any exam or interview? What kind of appointment is this?”
Launch of ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’ for Women Empowerment
The RJD leader announced the ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’ for women’s empowerment.
Under this scheme, financial and social assistance will be provided to make women self-reliant.
All leaders and workers were instructed to start the process of getting forms filled for this scheme.
Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi also addressed the party workers. She said, “Why is the maximum migration from Bihar? Why isn’t there any IT sector here?”
She further said, “You (NDA) never offered any solutions for inflation, unemployment, or poverty. There’s not a single day without murder, rape, robbery, or extortion in this state. These people have ruined both Bihar and the country.”?
