Maharashtra: Cockroach Janata Party Founder Abhijeet Dipke Receives Death Threat; Police on Alert

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A sensation has spread across Maharashtra following death threats received by Abhijeet Bhagwanrao Dipke, a young man from Sambhajinagar. Abhijeet Dipke has been making headlines nationwide through his unique and unconventional social media-based political organization, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP).

Taking immediate cognizance of this incident, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police have gone into 'action mode' and deployed a heavy police force outside Abhijeet's residence in the Waluj Mahanagar area. Furthermore, Abhijeet himself has revealed that the official social media handle of the 'Cockroach Janata Party' has also been hacked. His parents are deeply distressed by the growing controversy surrounding him.

Why Police Protection at Dipke's Residence?

Pankaj Atulkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, stated, "We have provided 24-hour general police protection to Abhijeet Dipke's residence, located in the MIDC Waluj area." This police security arrangement has been put in place to ensure that no crowds gather outside his home, as the CJP issue is currently trending on social media. Atulkar, however, denied that the security was provided specifically due to the threats Dipke has been receiving. He noted that no formal complaint regarding this matter has been received by any police station falling under his jurisdiction.

What Exactly is this 'Cockroach Connection'?

The story traces back to a remark made by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court during the hearing of a case, in which he referred to the youth as "cockroaches." Seizing upon this comment, Abhijeet Dipke—a resident of Waluj Mahanagar—digitally established the 'Cockroach Janata Party' on social media. He is currently pursuing his studies at Boston University in the United States. Thanks to this initiative by Dipke, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' has garnered millions of followers across various social media platforms in a very short span of time. However, due to the aggressive stance adopted in the party's manifesto, Abhijeet is now facing severe trolling and has recently even received direct death threats.

Why Were Death Threats Received by Abhijeet Dipke?

Abhijeet Dipke has received serious threats via phone calls and messages from unidentified individuals. He has shared a screenshot of one such threat on social media. Recognizing the gravity of the threats and to prevent any untoward incident, the Dipke family has immediately installed CCTV cameras around their home to further bolster security.

Parents Get Emotional: What Did They Say?

When asked about Abhijeet's unique political experiment, his parents became visibly emotional. They stated, "We had absolutely no prior knowledge about this political party; we only learned about it through social media. Given the current political climate, anything could happen at any moment. Ever since this party was launched, we have been extremely concerned about Abhijeet's safety. Our sincere advice to him is to stay away from politics, secure a government job for himself, and lead a peaceful life."
