Major Setback For Uddhav Thackeray: UBT MLC Sachin Ahir Joins Shinde Sena

Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Sachin Ahir on Tuesday has joined the Shinde Sena and filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council as the Shiv Sena candidate.

Mumbai: A big development has happened in Maharashtra politics again today. In eight days, Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde has given Uddhav Thackeray another big political blow. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Sachin Ahir joined the Shiv Sena led by DCM Eknath Shinde and filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council as the Shiv Sena candidate. 

Who has joined the Shinde Sena?

Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Sachin Ahir on Tuesday has joined the Shinde Sena and filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council as the Shiv Sena candidate.

The Thackeray group had sent him to the Legislative Council. Sachin Ahir has represented the Worli constituency in the Legislative Assembly. Sachin Ahir used to be seen as a shadow of Worli Assembly MLA Aditya Thackeray. 

Sachin Ahir originally belonged to the Nationalist Congress Party. Sharad Pawar played an important role in shaping his political career. The Nationalist Congress Party gave him various responsibilities like ministerial post, Mumbai president post. Sachin Ahir was known as Arun Gawli's nephew. The area of  South Mumbai is known as Girangaon. There were many mills here. Sachin Ahir entered politics from the labor sector while working through the union of those mills.

Who are there in the photo?

When Sachin Ahir was filing his application for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, both Deputy Chief Ministers Sunetra Pawar and Eknath Shinde were present there.

In the 2014 assembly elections, Sachin Ahir was defeated by MLA Sunil Shinde. In 2019, Aditya Thackeray contested the assembly elections from Worli. At that time, Sachin Ahir joined the Shiv Sena. After Aditya Thackeray was elected, Shiv Sena sent both Sunil Shinde and Sachin Ahir to the Legislative Council.
