Manipur: Violence has erupted again in Ukhrul district of Manipur. After the latest violence, the administration has imposed a curfew. Internet service has been stopped for 5 days. This decision was taken on Tuesday. It is alleged that armed people set houses in the villages on fire late at night, after which many families left their homes in an atmosphere of fear and moved towards safe areas. Many people were injured in the violence. Tension has increased between the two communities.
The violence started on Monday night. There was a clash between some youths. After stone pelting and firing, many houses were also vandalized. Many shops and vehicles were also burnt. Security forces had to intervene.
The District Magistrate immediately imposed a curfew from 6 pm to 6 am. Internet services were suspended for 5 days. At present there is no restriction on SMS and voice calls. Section 144 was implemented by increasing the number of security forces.
