Mann Govt's Flood Relief Sees 194% Spike in Medical Services Within 24 Hours

Bhagwant Mann Govt's Flood Relief Response: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has proved that even in the toughest of times, the health and safety of people remain the top priority. In the flood-affected regions, while on September 16 around 51,000 people benefitted from health camps, just a day later this number witnessed an unprecedented rise to 1.5 lakh. This sharp increase is evidence that the Mann Government not only understood the seriousness of the situation but also immediately took action at the ground level to reach people with timely help. This achievement has reassured affected families that the government stands with them at all times.

Govt directions to the Health and Family Welfare Department

Chief Minister Mann issued clear directions to the Health and Family Welfare Department that under no circumstances should affected families be deprived of health services. He said that floods not only damage homes and fields but also significantly increase health risks. In such a scenario, the government’s priority is to ensure that no citizen remains untreated. As a result of these efforts, thousands of people have been provided with timely relief and treatment, which has significantly reduced the risk of disease outbreaks.

Mann Govt's Special Health Campaign

The Mann Government launched a special health campaign on September 14. The main objective of this campaign was to control possible post-flood diseases at the earliest, provide primary healthcare at people’s doorsteps, and ensure safety for the elderly, pregnant women, and small children. The Chief Minister also ensured that the plans prepared at the state level did not remain confined to paper but were rapidly implemented in villages. This is the reason why, in such a short span of time, a record-breaking number of people were able to benefit from health camps.

So far, health camps have been organized in 2,303 villages. These camps have not only conducted check-ups and treatments for citizens but also focused on preventing diseases that spread quickly after floods, such as fever, diarrhea, and skin infections. Large teams of doctors and health workers are continuously deployed in the affected areas, providing not only medicines but also health awareness. This widespread effort has created an environment of trust among rural communities.

Health of animals alongside humans

The Mann Government has also prioritized the health of animals alongside humans. So far, 14,780 animals have been treated and 48,535 animals vaccinated free of cost. Additionally, special attention is being given to the safe disposal of dead animals to prevent contamination of water and soil. This effort demonstrates that the government has adopted a holistic approach to health, ensuring every possible step for the safety of both humans and animals.

Door-to-door checkups

Chief Minister Mann himself announced, “Door-to-door checkups are being conducted, and wherever mosquito larvae are found, spraying is done immediately. Public safety is our first priority.” This statement not only reflects the government’s promptness but also shows that the administration is active at every level. The Punjab Government’s quick and effective measures have become a ray of hope for flood-affected families.
