Mega Gita Recital In Kolkata: Baba Ramdev, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri To Join 5 Lakh Devotees

Kolkata: The mega Gita recital event is going to be a grand one as around 5 lakh devotees are all set to participate in the mega Gita recital event to be held today. Along with lakhs of devotees, the main attendees in the event will be Baba Ramdev and Dhirendra Krishna Shastri.

Notably, the event is scheduled to be held at the Brigade Parade ground. The ground reverberated with the sound of drums and cymbals ahead of the mass recital of the sacred verses of Holy Bhagwat Gita.

Titled as ‘Panch Lakkho Konthe Gita Path’ (Gita chanting by five lakh voices), the event is organised by the Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad. The event is collective of monks and spiritual leaders from different monasteries and Hindu religious organisations. 

As the visuals surfaced from the Brigade Parade ground, the participants looked all excited waving saffron religious flags, arriving into the venue carrying copies of the Gita. Ahead of the event, participants were seen performaning cultural events. 

Notably, the event presided over by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj. Among the chief guest will be Padma Bhushan awardee Sadhvi Rithambara. Along with them Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev will also grace the event.

Talking about the event, Padma Bhushan Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji said, "When five lakh people come together, our collective strength is visible. Unity reinforces the power of dharma. The Gita teaches us to stand firm in any situation and to control our inner enemies—desires, anger, ego, and attachments—that weaken us. Socially, it helps break barriers and unites us all, making this collective recitation very auspicious..."

It is to be noted here that West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose will also grace the mega Bhagavad Gita recital, said a senior official of Lok Bhavan. the Lok Bhavan official said, “The Governor received an invitation from the organisers and he will be attending the programme today... He cut short his trip to the national capital and returned to Kolkata late last night.”
