National News: In view of the security challenges of terrorism as well as the double front on the borders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of Mission 'Mission Sudarshan Chakra' from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Its aim is to increase India's offensive capabilities while neutralizing the enemy's defense infiltration.

Linking this mission to Lord Krishna's Sudarshan Chakra, he said that India draws inspiration from its rich cultural and mythological heritage for guidance in modern defense innovations. To meet the defense and security needs of the country, the PM also called for manufacturing the engines of fighter jets in India.

PM Modi stressed making fighter jets

To protect India from security threats, the 10-year defense project 'Sudarshan Chakra' has been announced to strengthen the security of the country's important military and civilian establishments. It talks about developing an indigenous defense shield to give a decisive reply to the enemy.

This step is obviously being taken in view of the military partnership between Pakistan and China that was openly visible during Operation Sindoor. Along with this, the PM stressed manufacturing fighter jets in the country itself, pointing to the delay in getting jet engines from America for Tejas aircraft.

Sudarshan Chakra will be like Israel's Iron Dome

Though the PM did not give details of the 'Sudarshan Chakra' defense system, it is believed to be on the lines of Israel's Iron Dome all-weather air-defense system, which is fully capable of dealing with standoff weapons and other aerial threats.

The Prime Minister said that adequate security is essential for the development of the country and indifference is not an option. Therefore, by 2035, all important places in the country, including strategic and civilian areas like hospitals, railways, and all centers of faith, will be provided full security cover through new platforms of technology.

The PM said that the security cover should keep expanding and every citizen of the country should feel safe. This will be a system that will assess future possibilities in terms of war and prepare a plus-one strategy.

PM Modi targets Pakistan

Referring to Operation Sindoor, the PM said that Pakistan attacked our military installations, airports, sensitive places, places of worship, and civilians with countless missiles and drones, which were foiled by our brave soldiers and technology.
