PM Modi Emerges as World’s Most Popular Leader; Trump and Meloni Trail Far Behind

Prime Minister Narendra Modi topped the July 2025 Morning Consult report with a 75% approval rating, emerging as the world’s most popular democratic leader, surpassing peers from over 20 countries.

National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again proved to be the most popular democratic leader globally. According to the latest survey released in July 2025 by business intelligence organization Morning Consult, PM Modi has the support of 75% of the people. This survey was conducted between July 4 and July 10 among the leaders of more than 20 democratic countries.

Mark Carney 56%

Prime Minister Modi is ranked first in the report, while South Korean President Lee Jae-myung is second with a 59% approval rating. After this, Argentine President Javier Milei has got 57% support. At fourth and fifth place are Canada's Mark Carney (56%) and Australia's Anthony Albanese (54%), respectively.

BJP's IT cell chief shared the data

BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya also shared this data on social media. In this list, 44% of people supported US President Donald Trump, but 50% rejected him.

The list of least popular leaders includes French President Emmanuel Macron and Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who have only 18% support, while 74% of people are dissatisfied with them.

The status of some other leaders is as follows:

  • Giorgia Meloni of Italy: 40% support, 54% disapproval
  • Friedrich Merz of Germany: 34% support, 58% disapproval
  • Turkey's Erdogan: 33% support, 50% disapproval
  • Brazil's Lula da Silva: 32% support, 60% disapproval
  • Britain's Keir Starmer: 26% support, 65% disapproval
  • Shigeru Ishiba of Japan: 20% support, 66% disapproval
