Monsoon to Hit Keralam 6 Days Early, Heatwave Continues Across Delhi and UP

New Delhi: Currently, the heatwave is wreaking havoc across the country. A heatwave is going on, the temperature is crossing 45 and people are in distress. In such a situation, the meteorological department has given relief news that this time monsoon may arrive before the scheduled time. But there is also a concern which forces both farmers and common people to think.

When will monsoon come this time?

According to the Meteorological Department, this year monsoon can reach Kerala on May 26. Usually it comes on June 1 i.e. about six days earlier this time. However, the department has also said that there will be a delay of four days. Last year also the monsoon arrived early on May 24. As soon as monsoon enters Keralam, rain will start in many parts of the country and there will be relief from the heat.

Which states are experiencing the hottest heat?

At present the situation is worst in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The temperature in Akola, Maharashtra was recorded at 45.9 degrees, which was the highest in the country. People in Amravati, Jalgaon and Wardha are also suffering from the heatwave and humidity.

What is the condition of Delhi and UP?

There is no hope of relief in Delhi at present. The temperature can go up to 41 degrees and a heatwave will continue with strong sunlight. The effect of heat continues in UP also. Apart from this, the recent storm and rain in UP have caused huge devastation in which 113 people have died and many houses have been destroyed.

Will there be less rain this time?

This is where the real concern lies. The Meteorological Department says that this time there will be less rainfall than normal in the country. The normal average is 87 cm but this time only 80 cm of rain is expected. The monsoon season from June to September is very important for agriculture and water, hence this figure is worrying.

What is the reason for less rainfall?

Experts are blaming El Niño for this. This is a seasonal phenomenon in which the waters of the Pacific Ocean become warmer than normal. Due to this, monsoon winds become weak and there is less rainfall in India. This is the reason why the heat is more intense this year.

Now all eyes are on May 26 when the first drop of monsoon will soak the land of Keralam and crores of people will get a sigh of relief.
