Heavy Rain to Lash Delhi, UP and Bihar Till July 26, Downpour Likely Over Next 24 Hours

New Delhi: Monsoon has once again gained momentum across the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of North, East and North-East India for the coming seven days. The effect of rain will be seen in the hilly states as well as the plain areas. While this will provide relief to people from the heat, it may also cause problems like floods and landslides in some areas.

Why increased danger in hilly areas?

The Meteorological Department has advised special caution for the hilly states. Due to continuous rain, there is a possibility of cloudbursts, flash floods and landslides in some areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. People and travellers living in such areas have been advised to keep an eye on weather updates.

Is there news of relief for farming?

This time there was much less rainfall than normal in the month of June, due to which the concern of the farmers had increased. There was good rainfall in some parts in the early days of July, but after that the rainfall again reduced in many areas. Now with the re-activation of monsoon, the crops are expected to get the necessary moisture and farming can get relief.

What is the reason for increase in rainfall?

According to meteorologists, at present the monsoon trough is extending through Rajasthan till the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, separate cyclonic circulations are active over Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Bay of Bengal. Due to the impact of all these weather systems, rainfall activities have intensified in most parts of the country.

How will the weather be in the next few days?

Rain has been recorded in large parts of the country during the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department estimates that the scope of rain may increase further in the next one to two days. There is a possibility of good rain in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while heavy rain may continue in Mumbai, coastal areas of Maharashtra and maritime areas of Karnataka.

Will rain reduce after July 23?

The Meteorological Department says that after July 23, the intensity of rain may reduce somewhat in many areas. However, monsoon will remain active in North, Central and East India. At the same time, rain activities may become relatively weak in western Rajasthan and some parts of South India.
