New Delhi: A new revelation has emerged regarding Nida Khan, the prime accused in the Nashik conversion case. According to reports, she visited Blossom Hospital—located in the Mumbra area of Thane—twice to seek medical treatment. Doctors at the hospital stated that Nida Khan arrived for treatment on April 11 and April 13.

What did hospital sources say?

According to hospital sources, she visited the hospital with her husband on the first occasion, whereas she came alone for treatment the second time. It is reported that prior to visiting the hospital, she had undergone a preliminary check-up at home, following which she proceeded to the hospital for further medical attention.

According to the doctors, Nida Khan complained of abdominal pain and was also experiencing difficulty traveling. Consequently, she required rest and needed a medical leave certificate. Dr. Shamayra Azmi, the female physician who treated her at the hospital, stated, "The patient visited our hospital on April 11 and 13. She complained of abdominal pain and was facing difficulties with travel. She had undergone a check-up at home prior to visiting us. Given her condition, she was advised to rest and was issued a medical leave certificate."

It is worth noting that the search has been intensified for Nida Khan, the absconding accused in the alleged sexual harassment and religious conversion racket case linked to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, Maharashtra. The police detained and interrogated her husband; based on the information obtained during this interrogation, raids were conducted at several locations. However, upon reaching the specific hideout where Nida was suspected to be sheltering, the police found the house locked.

Is Nida Khan absconding?

According to police sources, Nida Khan has been absconding ever since this case came to light. Initially, she was reported to be the HR Head at the company; however, the investigation subsequently revealed that she was employed as a tele-caller in the BPO unit. The police have raided her potential hideouts, but so far, they have been unable to find any trace of her. Furthermore, the mobile phones of Nida and her family members remain switched off, making it even more difficult to trace her location.

What is Statement from Nida's Lawyer?

The Nashik Police have constituted three special teams to apprehend the accused; these teams are conducting continuous raids at various locations and are actively gathering new leads. Meanwhile, Nida Khan's lawyer has claimed that she is pregnant, is currently present in Mumbai, and has approached the court seeking anticipatory bail. This petition is expected to be heard shortly in a Nashik court.

Nida Khan stands accused of disregarding complaints made by female victims and of discouraging one woman from filing a complaint regarding a case involving religious conversion and harassment. She reportedly remarked that "such things happen" and sided with the accused party.

What is the status of the case?

So far, seven other individuals have been arrested in connection with this case. These include Asif Ansari, Danish, Shafi Shaikh, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, and Tausif Attar. Additionally, Ashwin Chainani, the Operations Manager of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Committee, has also been arrested.

This entire case centers on the BPO unit of TCS located in Nashik, where serious allegations have surfaced involving molestation, sexual harassment, mental torture, and the hurting of religious sentiments against employees. To date, a total of nine cases have been registered in connection with this matter.

Given the gravity of the situation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted under the directives of the Nashik Police Commissioner to conduct an impartial and comprehensive investigation into the entire affair.

Meanwhile, two of the arrested accused are set to be produced before the court shortly, following the expiration of their police remand period. The police have stated that the search for the absconding accused is ongoing and that an arrest is expected soon.
