On the instructions of the Union Home Ministry, this campaign was simultaneously carried out in 244 districts of the country, in which disaster management was tested at every level from Delhi to Kerala, from village to metros.
In the sensitive areas of the national capital, full blackout was done for 15 to 20 minutes in the evening. The street lights of Duty Path, India Gate, Vijay Chowk and the entire New Delhi were discontinued. The exercise was done to examine preparations under the possibility of airstrikes in a war -period, to tested how fast and accuracy can apply blackouts.
A three -phase mock drill caught special attention at the Narora nuclear plant at Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. First sirens, then explosions, treatment of the injured, extinguishing fire and finally to the hospital through ambulance - every phase was kept very close to reality. At the same time, extensive practice was also done in high footfall areas like CSMT railway station in Mumbai, Council Hall in Pune, and NDMC office in Delhi.
This drill was also organized in hospitals, schools and municipal offices in the country. The objective was how fast the response of medical and civil agencies gets in any emergency. In this, the main focus was on reducing medical response time so that the loss of life and property in the event of an accident would be minimal.
The drill started in Amritsar at 10:30 pm and the drill started from 4:02 pm in Kerala worked to spread consciousness in the public. DC Sakshi Sahni of Amritsar gave strict warnings to those who spread the rumors and appealed to the public for cooperation. At the same time, the entire urban areas were included in Telangana and Karnataka under large -scale 'operation exercises'.
It was not just a rehearsal, but was a proof of the thinking of a strong nation that wants to be prepared before every disaster. Arrangements such as the activation of the control rooms, the cleaning of the bunkers, the hotline with the airforce show that India is now leading in preparation, not just a response.
This mock drill of May 7, 2025 became an unprecedented civil security initiative, which presented India as a strong, alert and organized nation on the disaster management front.
