Weather Report: These days two completely different pictures are emerging in the weather of the country. On one hand, heatwaves and scorching heat have made life difficult for people in the states of North India, while on the other hand, the first phase of monsoon rains is ready to knock in South India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued strict alerts for the next few days.

North India is suffering from severe heat

For Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the IMD has warned of severe heat and heatwaves for the next four to five days, In Rajasthan, temperatures could soar beyond 45 degrees Celsius. In Delhi and NCR too, the temperature is likely to remain above normal. Weather experts believe that in such a situation, people's daily routine, health and livelihood can be badly affected.

Arrival of rain in the south, red alert in Mumbai

On the contrary, rainy conditions have started developing in the western and southern coastal states of India. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. The IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai today. Active weather systems in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are accelerating the monsoon, causing continuous rainfall in these areas.

Monsoon may arrive soon, may reach Kerala before May 27

IMD had already predicted the arrival of monsoon in Kerala on May 27, but fresh indications suggest that it may arrive ahead of time - on May 24 or 25. Like last year, this time too the monsoon seems to be moving ahead of its scheduled time. Rain has started in the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, which indicates the activity of the monsoon.

Cyclone forming in the Arabian Sea, monsoon will get strength

A powerful low-pressure system has developed over the Arabian Sea and is likely to intensify into a cyclone within the next 48 hours. This will not only help the monsoon to enter South India faster, but it can also accelerate the pace of rain across the country. However, it is also likely to affect Oman and Arabian regions.

Dry weather in the north, light rain possible in Jammu and Kashmir

The next three-four days are likely to remain dry in North India. However, light clouds may appear in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and UP and there may be drizzle at some places. Light to moderate rain is possible in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. There may be thundershowers in the Terai areas of Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.
