The Indian government has decided to deploy a team of MPs from different political parties overseas to represent India's voice on Operation Sindoor, a recent military operation against Pakistan. The move aims to project India's version of events and counter Pakistan's narrative on the international stage. The Parliamentary Affairs Ministry has begun negotiations with all parties, and the Congress has already declared its participation in the exercise.

All-party delegation to project India's stand

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, has started constituting a group of MPs that will travel to different countries to make India's arguments. Eight groups of MPs will be established in the first phase, each comprising MPs from various parties. These groups will visit eight different countries to project India's point of view on the recent military spat with Pakistan.

Congress to participate in the exercise

Despite initial reservations, the Congress has agreed to participate in the exercise. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the party has been in touch with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and will be part of the delegations. Ramesh emphasized that the Congress always keeps the country's interest at heart and wants no issue, including national security, to be politicized.

BJP's move to send MPs abroad

The government's decision to send MPs abroad comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declined to host two all-party meetings on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The BJP has been accused of politicizing national security issues, but the government's move to send MPs abroad may be seen as an attempt to project a united front on the international stage.

A strong response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism

Operation Sindoor was launched by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. The operation targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir, and was seen as a strong response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. The Indian government has been keen to project its version of events on the international stage, and the decision to send MPs abroad is part of this effort.

India's stand on the international stage

The deployment of MPs overseas to represent India's voice on Operation Sindoor is a significant move that aims to project India's stand on the international stage. The participation of all parties, including the Congress, will help to present a united front and counter Pakistan's narrative. The success of this effort will depend on the effective communication of India's point of view and the ability to build international support for India's position.
