The Indian military has conducted a series of targeted strikes under Operation Sindoor against nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The targets were locations suspected to be used for planning and conducting attacks on India.

Retaliation for Pahalgam Terror Attack

The strikes were in retaliatory reaction against the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed, most of them Hindu tourists. The attack was claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Indian Army's Message

The Indian Army immediately after the strikes tweeted on social media: "Justice is served. Jai Hind!" Earlier the Army tweeted: "prhaaraay snnihitaaH, jyaay prshikssitaaH" — Ready to strike, trained to win.

Blackout in Border Regions

Blackout was enforced in various regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan following unprovoked drone and artillery attacks by Pakistan on Indian border states.

Air Defence Units Deployed

All air defence units along the India-Pakistan border have been deployed in full strength to counter any potential retaliation.
