National News: An unusual seriousness was felt inside the Parliament House on Monday when India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri presented an official briefing on Operation Sindoor before the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. This was the first time that the Government of India had apprised the Parliament in such clear and strategic terms on the planning, intent and implications of this mission.
As soon as questions were raised about Pakistan within the Parliamentary Committee, the Foreign Secretary said in a very calm but decisive tone.
"India did not take this action without warning. Pakistan was given prior information regarding Operation Sindoor." This statement shows that India is not only militarily capable, but also acts with strategic transparency and moral clarity.
During the meeting, some members raised questions on the speculation going on in the media whether Pakistan had threatened nuclear weapons in response to this attack? Vikram Misri categorically denied this and said:“We did not receive any such threat from Pakistan. They could not do much with their traditional military network either.”
This also showed the success of India's deterrence policy where the enemy was defeated without provoking a reaction.
The killing of 26 innocent civilians by Pak-sponsored terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 was a red line for India. Vikram Misri said that this attack was not just on civilians, but a direct blow to India's internal security and regional balance. After this, India had no option left, except for decisive action.
Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force and the Army uprooted the terrorist network present in Pakistan and POK. More than 100 terrorists were killed, and the posts from which infiltration was carried out were destroyed by precision bombing.
"This was not just a counter-attack, it was a well-planned effort to completely destroy the terrorist infrastructure," Vikram Misri said.
After this historic briefing, now the committee headed by Shashi Tharoor will evaluate the regional and global effects of India's military action. It will also decide what kind of diplomatic preparation India should keep on the international platform during such an operation, so that the enemy country is isolated and India's position is strengthened.
"Operation Sindoor" was not just a military counter-attack, it is the declaration of India's new strategic thinking. First informing, then precise attack, and finally transparent dialogue in Parliament.this shows that India is now fully prepared and aware not only on the battlefield, but also on political and diplomatic fronts.
