National News: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has dismissed constable Munir Ahmed posted in Jammu from service. He is accused that he married a Pakistani citizen and did not inform the department about this. At the same time, Munir Ahmed allowed his wife to stay in India despite the end of the visa, which the CRPF has taken serious steps considering the security violation.
According to sources, Munir Ahmed joined CRPF in 2017 and first informed the department that he wanted to marry a woman from Pakistan. However, he was not given official permission for this marriage. Despite this, they got married on 24 May 2023 via video call. After this, his wife Meenal Khan started coming to India on a tourist visa and staying with him.
However, Meenal Khan's visa ended on 22 March 2023, but she remained in India despite this. CRPF has taken action against Munir Ahmed, considering the incident as a serious security violation.
According to the CRPF, Munir Ahmed gave refuge in India despite the end of the visa, which was considered a threat to national security. After this, the process of sending Meenal Khan to Pakistan has been started. However, the High Court has given her 10 days of temporary relief, after which she will be sent to Pakistan via the Wagah border.
The incident has come to light at a time when 26 people died in a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir. After this, the Government of India has taken strict steps against Pakistan. Mail and parcel services, imports from Pakistan, and Pakistani ships have been banned from entry of Indian ports. In addition, the Attari-Wagah border has also been closed, causing the trade between the two countries to come to a standstill.
It is clear from the CRPF action against Munir Ahmed that the force takes any security violation seriously. The incident also showed that national security will not be compromised. At the same time, the Government of India has clearly emerged a cautious attitude against Pakistan's strict policy and security.
