PM Modi won't attend Russia's Victory Day parade, India to be represented at different level

This is the 80th anniversary of Russia having defeated Germany in World War II. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that while Modi will not be attending, India would be represented by a diplomatic representative. Dmitry Peskov did not mention which Indian officer would attend in place of Prime Minister Modi or at what level.PM Modi was invited by Russia under this program.

Russia displays its military strength under this program

Victory Day parade is annually celebrated on May 9 in Moscow. It is conducted on Red Square. Russian Armed Forces' parade is of extreme importance, where Russian President Vladimir Putin typically is present as the guest of honor and delivers the keynote address. Russia showcases its military might under this program. This parade is conducted as a remembrance of Russia's crushing victory against Nazi Germany during World War II.

Tension between Pakistan and India

India and Pakistan are at odds after the terrorist strike in Pahalgam on 22 April. At least 26 people have been reported dead in the strike. There is rage against Pakistan in the country after the attack. Action is being sought against Pakistan.
