New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the name Seva Teerth for the complex housing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the Cabinet Secretariat.
Since 2014, the Modi government has taken steady steps to move away from symbols of India’s colonial past and usher in a mindset shift. Among the major changes are: South Block renamed as Seva Teerth; Central Secretariat as Kartavya Bhavan; Rajpath as Kartavya Path; Race Course Road as Lok Kalyan Marg; and Raj Bhavans/Raj Niwas as Lok Bhavan/Lok Niwas, as per the report by PTI.
After the inauguartion, PM Modi has also started work from his new office which is housed in Seva Teerth complex.
PM Modi unveiled the plaque of Seva Teerth at the new complex -- the name inscribed in Devanagari script on the wall of the complex. Below it is the motto 'Nagrik Devo Bhava' (citizen is akin to God), as per PTI.
Taking to his X, PM Modi wrote, ''With an unwavering resolve to serve the people of India and guided by the sacred spirit of Nagrikdevo Bhava, Seva Teerth is humbly dedicated to the nation.''
''May Seva Teerth always stand as a radiant symbol of duty, compassion, commitment to the principle of India First. May it inspire generations to walk the path of selfless service and tireless dedication to the welfare of all,'' added PM Modi.
In another post on X, PM Modi wrote, ''At Seva Teerth earlier today, signed files that are connected with the empowerment of the poor, downtrodden, our hardworking farmers, Yuva Shakti and Nari Shakti. The key decisions include: Approval for the launch of PM RAHAT scheme, as per which victims of accidents will get cashless treatment of up to Rs. 1.5 lakhs. This will ensure that immediate medical help is provided to anyone affected.
''Doubling of the target of the Lakhpati Didi scheme to 6 crore. This will boost women empowerment and self-reliance. The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund target has been doubled from Rs. 1 lakh crore to Rs. 2 lakh crore. This will be immensely helpful to our farmers and help boost their incomes. Approval for a Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs. 10,000 crore. This will encourage startups in early stages and deep-tech research. These decisions reaffirm the spirit of Nagrikdevo Bhava and add momentum to our vision of building a Viksit Bharat,'' added Pm Modi.
