Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Lok Sabha, shared new details about Operation Sindoor, India’s military response following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. He said that US Vice President JD Vance called him on May 9 to inform him about a 'huge' impending strike by Pakistan.

PM Received Alert From US Vice President

PM Modi said that the call came at a time when he was in an important meeting with army officials, so he couldn’t answer it at first. “On the night of May 9, the Vice President of the United States tried calling me for nearly an hour,” the Prime Minister said. “Since I was busy with the military, I couldn’t take his call. Later, I called him back. He informed me that Pakistan was planning a big strike. I told him clearly—if Pakistan has such intentions, they will have to pay a heavy price. If they attack, we will respond with a much bigger strike.”

India Responded Swiftly Without Global Pressure

The Prime Minister stated that no international leader asked India to stop its military response. “No global power told us to hold back,” he said. Taking a swipe at the opposition, he said that while India is moving strongly towards self-reliance, “the Congress party is depending on Pakistan for political issues. Sadly, they are importing matters from across the border.”

Operation Sindoor Struck Pakistan's Terror Sites

PM Modi explained that Operation Sindoor targeted terrorist camps inside Pakistan. “The operation was completed in less than 22 minutes. We hit terror bases deep inside Pakistan,” he said. He further added that the Indian military informed Pakistan’s military once the mission was done and that the objective was fully achieved. “We hit 100% of our targets. Their airbases are still in the ICU,” PM Modi added. He shared these remarks during a debate in Parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s firm response through Operation Sindoor.
