National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, on Saturday, August 2. During the visit, he will launch and lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth over ₹2,200 crore. These projects are focused on improving infrastructure, health, education, tourism, urban facilities, and cultural heritage in the city.
The Prime Minister’s visit will begin at 11 AM, where he will also speak at a public gathering. On the same day, PM Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, sending ₹20,500 crore directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers. Till now, the government has distributed over ₹3.90 lakh crore under this scheme.
To ease travel and traffic, PM Modi will open and begin work on key road and bridge projects, including:
He will also start work on several rural and city roads in places like Dalmadi, Gangapur, Lahartara–Kotwa, and Babatpur. Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for overbridges at Khalispur Yard and level crossing 22C.
To improve the electricity system in Varanasi, a large project under the Smart Distribution Plan will be launched, which includes underground power infrastructure worth over ₹880 crore.

To provide safe drinking water in villages, the PM will inaugurate 47 rural water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
He will also lay foundation stones for cleaning and maintaining important ponds like Ramkund, Mandakini, and Shankuldhara. Additionally, four floating platforms for religious ceremonies will be set up on the river.

For healthcare, he will launch advanced facilities like robotic surgery and CT scan machines at Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital. He will also lay the foundation stone for a new Homeopathy College and Hospital.
PM Modi will distribute support equipment like wheelchairs and walking aids to over 7,400 senior citizens and differently-abled people.
To improve sports infrastructure, he will inaugurate a synthetic hockey turf at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Stadium and a 300-seat hall at PAC in Ramnagar. He will also lay the foundation stone for Quick Response Team (QRT) barracks.
He will also launch a new online registration portal for various competitions under the Kashi Sansad series, including art, sports, quizzes, and job fairs.
