National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit five states Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal and Bihar between September 13 and 15 (Saturday to Monday). During this period, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 71,850 crore, according to the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday. In Churachandpur, Manipur, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for development works costing more than Rs 7,300 crore at 12:30 PM and address the people. Later, at 2:30 PM, he will inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 1,200 crore in Imphal and speak at a public event.
The Prime Minister will then go to Assam where he will take part in the 100th birth anniversary celebration of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati at 5 PM and address the gathering. On September 14, PM Modi will launch and lay foundation stones for major infrastructure and industry projects worth over Rs 18,530 crore in Assam. At Darrang, at 11 AM, he will lay foundation stones for multiple works and speak to the public. At 1:45 PM in Golaghat, he will inaugurate the Assam Bio-Ethanol Private Limited Plant at Numaligarh Refinery and also lay the foundation stone of a Polypropylene Plant there.
On September 15, PM Modi will be in West Bengal to inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025 in Kolkata at 9:30 AM. Later the same day, he will visit Bihar to inaugurate the new terminal building of Purnea Airport at 2:45 PM. He will also launch and lay foundation stones for development works worth about Rs 36,000 crore in Purnea and address a public programme. The Prime Minister will also launch the National Makhana Board in Bihar.
In Mizoram, projects worth over Rs 9,000 crore in Aizawl will cover several sectors like railways, roadways, energy and sports. PM Modi will also flag off three new trains – the Sairang (Aizawl)-Delhi (Anand Vihar) Rajdhani Express, Sairang-Guwahati Express and Sairang-Kolkata Express. According to the statement, Aizawl will now be linked directly to Delhi through a Rajdhani Express. The Sairang-Guwahati Express will improve travel between Mizoram and Assam, while the Sairang-Kolkata Express will connect Mizoram with Kolkata. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for several road projects like the Aizawl Bypass Road, Thenzawl-Sialsuk Road and Khankawn-Rongura Road. He will lay the foundation stone for the Chhimtuipui River Bridge on the Lawngtlai-Siaha Road, which will provide year-round connectivity and cut travel time by two hours. He will also launch the Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Hall for sports development. Strengthening the energy sector in the region, he will lay the foundation stone of a 30 TMTPA (thousand metric tonnes per annum) LPG Bottling Plant at Mualkhang in Aizawl.
The Prime Minister will launch development works worth over Rs 7,300 crore in Churachandpur, including the Manipur Urban Roads, Drainage and Asset Management Project worth over Rs 3,600 crore; five National Highway projects worth over Rs 2,500 crore; the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project; and Working Women Hostels at nine locations.
In Assam, PM Modi will lay foundation stones for projects like the Darrang Medical College & Hospital, a GNM School and a B.Sc. Nursing College. At Numaligarh in Golaghat, he will inaugurate the Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to promote clean energy and reduce fossil fuel use. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Polypropylene Plant at NRL to boost Assam’s petrochemical sector.
In keeping with his goal of a strong and self-reliant India, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and address the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025 in Kolkata on September 15. In Bihar, PM Modi will also launch the National Makhana Board to promote production, introduce new technology, strengthen post-harvest management, encourage value addition and processing, and develop markets, exports and branding. This move aims to support Makhana farmers in Bihar and across the country.
