PM Modi Turns 76: BJP Begins Month-Long Birthday Celebrations, Why Is September So Special?

New Delhi: BJP is preparing to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on 17th September in the form of a big public relations campaign this time. BJP will run 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' across the country from 17 September to 17 October. This campaign is also linked to the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Modi's public life. According to the party, issues like service, good governance, poor welfare and developed India will be taken to the public during the campaign.

Why will ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ run for a month this time?

BJP usually organises 'Seva Pakhwada' on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday, but this time its scope has been increased to one month. The campaign will start from 17th September and run till 17th October. Actually, Narendra Modi took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time on 7 October 2001. He is completing 25 years of his public life in October 2026. The party is preparing to take this achievement among the public through this campaign.

What will happen in the 13 programmes?

BJP has prepared an outline of about 13 major programmes under the campaign. It will start with the programme ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ on 17th September. Apart from this, there will be programmes for children like 'India of Dreams of 25 Crore Children', 'Namo Seva Gatha', 'Aangan Ka Utsav' and 'Kahani Badalav Ki'. Through these, there is a plan to bring forward the creative activities of children, street plays and success stories of people benefited from government schemes.

Why travel from Vadnagar to Varanasi?

Prime Minister Modi's birthplace Vadnagar and his parliamentary seat Varanasi have also been given special place in the campaign. In Gujarat, there are preparations to organise bike tours from Vadnagar to Varanasi and back to Vadnagar. During this period, service and cultural programmes will be organised along with public dialogue. There is also a plan to connect both the places through ‘Jal, Jan aur Seva Sankalp Yatra’.

Which activities will be emphasised in ‘Seva Mera Contribution’?

Activities like blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, plantation and digital literacy will be organised during the campaign. At the same time, under 'Seva Setu Abhiyan', camps will be organised at the block and assembly level. Officials from government departments will be present in these camps so that eligible people can be helped in availing the benefits of welfare schemes.

Why are the dates of October 2 & 7 important?

In the campaign, special programmes will be organised on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October and completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Modi's public life on 7th October. There is also a plan to organise 'Jan Seva Mahakumbh' in the final phase of the campaign, in which public representatives and BJP workers will participate.

Will BJP also respond to the opposition through the campaign?

The focus of this campaign of BJP is not going to be limited to service activities only. Along with taking the government's schemes and achievements to the public, the party is also preparing to give political answers to the issues being raised by the opposition. According to party sources, the campaign is also being considered important in order to increase direct contact with the public and strengthen the reach of beneficiaries before the upcoming elections.
