PM Narendra Modi Warns of Toughest Punishment for Paper Leak Accused After Delhi Student Protest

New Delhi: The 'Mangal Milan' meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party was organised on Tuesday at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium located in the Parliament House complex. In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified the government's strict stance on the recent paper leak cases and said that those who play with the future of the youth will not be spared at any cost.

He assured that along with giving strict punishment to the culprits, concrete steps are being taken to make the examination system completely transparent and secure. In the meeting, the Prime Minister was also honoured for his achievement of being the elected Prime Minister for the longest period.

What did PM Modi say on paper leak?

Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the government has taken the recent paper leak cases very seriously. He said that strict legal action will be taken against those who have played with the future of the youth. The Prime Minister clarified that the aim of the government is not only to punish the culprits but also to create such a strong system so that incidents like exam question paper leak do not recur in future.

Will there be major changes in the examination system?

Prime Minister Modi said that the central government is continuously working towards making the examination system more transparent, reliable and technically secure. He indicated that the security arrangements in recruitment and competitive examinations will be further strengthened so that the confidence of lakhs of candidates is maintained. He assured the youth that no injustice will be allowed to their hard work and talent.

Was an appeal made to the opposition also for cooperation?

In his address, the Prime Minister appealed to all political parties that they should avoid politics on a sensitive issue like paper leak. He said that this is not a matter of any one party but of the future of crores of youth of the country. Therefore, all parties should cooperate together in creating such a system that maintains fairness in competitive examinations and strengthens the confidence of the youth.

Why was the resolution passed in honour of the Prime Minister?

During the meeting, all the NDA allies passed a congratulatory resolution in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This resolution was dedicated to his achievement of serving as the country's longest elected Prime Minister. Through the resolution, the allies appreciated his leadership and expressed confidence of working under his leadership in the coming years also.

What expectations did the new MPs express?

After attending the meeting, newly elected Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Ashok Mittal said that this is an important occasion of his parliamentary career. He said that the guidance he will receive from the Prime Minister and the party leadership will give him the direction to do better work in the interest of the country. He expressed confidence that all MPs will play an active role in taking forward the development agenda of the government.

Why did NCPI stay away from the meeting?

The newly formed Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) did not attend the joint meeting of NDA. According to the information, due to the group not yet getting formal recognition from the Lok Sabha Speaker, its MPs stayed away from the meeting. However, NCPI has already announced its support to the NDA government. Party leaders say that within the House they will maintain coordination with the government and effectively raise national issues as well as issues related to their respective areas.
