New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to have a very busy day on 28 February 2026, today. Programs are scheduled in Ajmer in Rajasthan in the morning and Sanand in Gujarat in the afternoon. Many important decisions and inaugurations related to health, employment and technology are included in today's agenda.

What is going to be special in Ajmer?

The Prime Minister will reach Ajmer at around 11:30 am. Here the HPV vaccination campaign will be started for 14-year-old girls across the country. This vaccine helps prevent cervical cancer, which is one of the most serious cancers in women.

This vaccination will be provided free of cost at government health centers. Through this initiative, the message of giving priority to women's health will be given. There will be special emphasis on ensuring that this facility reaches the daughters of both rural and urban areas.

Will the program be limited to vaccination only?

There will also be inauguration and foundation stone laying of more than 43 development projects worth more than Rs 16,680 crore in Ajmer. These include construction of roads, expansion of cities, drinking water schemes and other infrastructure-related works.

Along with this, appointment letters will also be handed over to more than 21,800 youth of Rajasthan. That means employment and development along with health initiatives on all three fronts together.

What is going to happen in Sanand, Gujarat?

The Prime Minister will reach Sanand at around 3:45 pm. Micron Technology's semiconductor assembly, testing and packaging plant will be inaugurated here. The foundation stone of this project was laid in September 2023 and there is an investment of more than Rs 22,500 crore.

Now production and export of ‘Made in India’ semiconductor memory modules will start from here. This plant is considered to be one of the largest cleanroom facilities in the world.

What will be the benefit to the country from this plant?

This is considered an important step in the field of chip manufacturing. This will increase technical employment opportunities in the country and strengthen the electronics industry. There has been an effort for a long time to give India a stronger role in global chip manufacturing, and this project is a solid step in that direction.

Why is this tour special?

On one hand, a big campaign to protect the health of adolescent girls, on the other hand, industries related to high technology and employment. This tour seems to connect two different sectors—health and technology.

These initiatives are expected to provide security to lakhs of daughters and opportunities to the youth. This day of 28th February seems to be moving forward with many dimensions of development.
