New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Gujarat on Saturday and started his tour from the historic Somnath temple. Here he participated in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv program and performed rituals in the temple. On his arrival, special enthusiasm was seen in the temple city.
Thousands of people were standing on both sides of the roads, welcoming him with slogans of “Modi-Modi”. The entire area was decorated and the atmosphere looked like a big festival.
As soon as the Prime Minister's convoy reached the temple, people showered flowers and greeted him with applause. Modi also accepted the greetings of the people by shaking hands. After this he reached the temple premises and had darshan in a peaceful atmosphere.
The Prime Minister's schedule is going to be very busy on Sunday. He will take part in “Shaurya Yatra” at around 9:45 am. This yatra is being considered a big event showcasing cultural pride and public participation.
After this, at around 10:15 he will once again reach Somnath temple and offer darshan and worship. At 11 am he will attend a big public program organized under Somnath Swabhiman Parv and address the people.
After completing the Somnath programmes, the Prime Minister will go to Rajkot. There at around 1:30 pm he will inaugurate a big trade show and exhibition, which will be attended by people associated with trade and industry.
After this, at around 2 pm, he will inaugurate a conference at Marwari University and address the students and teachers.
At around 5:15 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the remaining portion of Phase-2 of Ahmedabad Metro. This is expected to further strengthen the city's public transport and will provide great relief to the daily commuters.
This visit of PM Modi is being considered a combination of religious faith and development work. On one hand there is their presence at a holy place like Somnath, on the other hand there are also big programs related to metro, education and business.
There is special enthusiasm among the people about his visit in Gujarat and a large number of people are preparing to participate in his programs.
