National News: Punjab is quickly becoming a hotspot for business and jobs, thanks to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s policies that attract investment. In the past two and a half years, the state has received Rs 86,541 crore in investments, creating over 4 lakh jobs. The textile and apparel industry alone has attracted Rs 5,754 crore, showing Punjab’s growing strength in this sector. A major example is Sanathan Polycot Private Limited’s Rs 1,600 crore Technical Textile Hub in Wazirabad, Fatehgarh Sahib. This large factory is helping Punjab regain its title as the ‘Manchester of India’ while creating many new jobs for young people.

Huge Factory for Modern Textiles

The new hub, part of Sanathan Textiles Limited, is being built on 80 acres. It will produce special yarns like Partially Oriented Yarn (POY), Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY), and Polyester Granules, which are used in technical textiles for cars, hospitals, agriculture, roads, and safety gear. The first phase started in August 2025, with a daily production of 350 tons, expected to reach 700 tons in a few months. The facility should be fully ready by March 2026, and a second phase by 2027-28 will increase yearly output to 6 lakh tons. Its location ensures easy supply to markets like Delhi, Ludhiana, and Panipat, with access to raw materials like PTA and MEG. Sanathan’s chairman, Paresh Dattani, praised Punjab’s fast approvals, clear rules, and business-friendly atmosphere. The factory will also use eco-friendly machinery that consumes less power and causes minimal pollution.

Thousands of Jobs and Local Growth

This ₹1,600 crore project, part of a larger ₹1,850 crore expansion, will create thousands of jobs for technicians, machine operators, transport workers, and small business owners. This will boost the economy of Fatehgarh Sahib and nearby towns, helping shops, transport services, and small industries grow.

Punjab Emerging as Textile Hub

Sanathan is not alone. Shiva Texfabs in Ludhiana invested ₹815 crore to expand, and big names like Vardhman Textiles and Monte Carlo are active in Punjab. The Integrated Textile Park in Ludhiana further strengthens the state’s textile sector. These projects position Punjab to benefit from the $350 billion global textile market by 2030. The state’s textile industry is ready to meet both local and international demand, supporting Punjab’s economy.

Investor-Friendly Policies Fuel Growth

CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has made it easier for investors. A single-window system provides all approvals within 45 working days. Registration can be done with a simple affidavit, and 22 special committees, including three focused on textiles (Yarn/Weaving, Fabric, Dyeing), work with businesses on policies. The government offers benefits like full SGST refund, interest subvention, stamp duty exemption, and priority land allocation. Punjab’s peaceful environment, skilled workforce, good roads, railways, and airports make it a top business choice. Punjab’s industrial story is building on its Green Revolution legacy. Sanathan Textiles made waves with a ₹550 crore IPO in 2024 and reported a ₹4,077 crore turnover the same year. Companies from Germany and Japan are showing interest, making Punjab a symbol of economic security and pride for Punjabi families.
