Punjab Govt Extends Strong Support to Flood Victims in Punjab

Heavy rains and floods have brought large-scale destruction to many parts of Punjab, submerging thousands of acres of crops and leaving millions of people homeless. In response to this crisis, the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has launched extensive relief efforts. Cabinet ministers and state officials are working together to speed up assistance, from supplying essential items to helping families rebuild their homes and livelihoods.

Help for Affected Families in Kohliyan Adda

Following Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s directions, Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk gave aid to families hit by floods in Kohliyan Adda village of Bhóa constituency. Two families of cobblers (shoemakers) received financial support and tools so they could restart their small businesses.

Support After the Ravi River’s Fury

The Ravi River’s floods had badly damaged Kohliyan Adda and nearby villages. These two cobbler families lost everything in the waters. Minister Kataruchakk handed over essential tools and new shoes to one family to restart their work, while the other family got direct financial help. This will allow them to restore their income and improve their financial condition.

Relief Materials Distributed Widely

The Punjab Government is not only giving immediate help but also planning for long-term needs. Over 400 beds, mattresses, mosquito nets, gas cylinders, and other essentials have already been sent to many villages in the constituency. Minister Kataruchakk promised that no flood-affected family will feel left out and that the government will keep standing with them wherever needed.
