National News:Operation Sindoor, running amidst India-Pakistan tension, has shocked Pakistan. In view of Pakistan's nefarious activities, India has implemented strict vigilance in border states and major cities. Governments have started special arrangements by canceling employees' holidays.
The Punjab government has canceled all the officers' holidays in view of the increasing threat along the border and issued an order not to leave the station without permission. The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has approved the installation of 9 state-of-the-art anti-drain systems on the 532 km long international border. This step has been taken with the aim of banning smuggling and espionage being done through drones on the border.
The Punjab government has also expanded the 'Farishte Yojana' and also included those who were injured in war or terrorist incidents under the purview of the scheme, under which free treatment of the injured will be ensured. Along with this, two ministers will be deployed in the border districts, who will monitor the situation.
In view of the stressful situation, the decision to close all educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Chandigarh has already been taken. Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar) and NIT Jalandhar have been closed till 16 May. Many private universities have declared holidays till May 11.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has appealed to the people not to leave the roads without any reason. Civil movement has been banned and all school-colleges have been closed. At the same time, 20 km radius villages are being vacated in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The district administration and police are working on the emergency rescue plan.
Preparations have also been intensified in the capital Delhi. The summer holidays of doctors of big hospitals like Safdarjung, RML, Lady Harding, Maulana Azad, UCMS and AIIMS have been canceled. Apart from this, the holidays of all NDMC and MCD employees have also been canceled.
The Haryana government has directed all government officials and employees not to leave the station. HPSC's May 11 examination has been postponed. In Chandigarh and Panchkula, all malls, restaurants, cinema halls and markets are ordered to be closed at 7 pm. Fireworks have been banned in Chandigarh for two months.
Dera Beas has announced that all the satsangghar of Punjab will be opened as shelter sites for those affected by war. This will provide emergency relief to thousands of people.
