Delhi: Describing Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India's new strategic thinking against terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh cautioned military commanders to never underestimate the enemy. Expressing gratitude to the soldiers who remain deployed on the border around the clock to protect the nation's integrity, the Defense Minister urged them to never underestimate the enemy and to always remain vigilant and prepared.

He also stated that the new strategic thinking born out of Operation Sindoor is that India responds to any terrorist activity on its own terms. This is the defense doctrine of New India, which embodies both resolve and courage. The actions taken by our forces against terrorists were consistent with both policy precision and human dignity.

The Defense Minister also stated that Operation Sindoor is not over yet and that our mission for peace will continue as long as even a single terrorist mindset remains. The Defense Minister made this statement during his address to the first conference of Army commanders since Operation Sindoor in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

After attending the Commanders' Conference, Rajnath Singh visited the forward border areas of Tanot and Longewala in Rajasthan on Friday and took stock of the security situation and military operational preparedness of the Army.

Symbol Of India’s Military Strength

Addressing the commanders, the Defence Minister described Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India's military prowess and national character, saying that the soldiers demonstrated that their strength lay not only in their weapons but also in their moral discipline and strategic clarity. Operation Sindoor will go down in history not only as a military operation but also as a symbol of the nation's courage and restraint.

How will the army be prepared in the future?

Regarding the preparedness of the Army to meet future challenges, the Defence Minister urged the Commanders to focus on defence diplomacy, self-reliance, information warfare, defence infrastructure and Army modernisation. Commending the professionalism, courage and resilience of the Armed Forces, the Defence Minister reiterated the Government's unwavering commitment to provide all resources to maintain the highest levels of operational preparedness.

During the Commanders' Conference, detailed deliberations were held with the senior Army leadership on key aspects including grey zone warfare and the roadmap for jointness, self-reliance and innovation. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, along with all Army Commanders were present.

Dialogue Must Continue With China

Referring to the ongoing dialogue with China regarding the situation on the northern border and steps taken to de-escalate tensions, the Defence Minister said that this demonstrates India's balanced and firm foreign policy. He said, "Our policy is clear that dialogue will continue and our preparedness on the border will remain intact."

Are Soldiers India’s Greatest Strength?

Praising the willpower and discipline of the soldiers, Rajnath said that the Indian Army is considered one of the most adaptable armies in the world. Be it the icy terrain of Siachen, the scorching heat of the Rajasthan desert or counter-terrorism operations in the dense forests, our soldiers have always demonstrated their capability and commitment. By adapting to difficult conditions, they further strengthen national security. The Defence Minister said that even though current warfare is technology-based, soldiers are the country's greatest asset.
