National News: Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), the most revered site in Sikhism and a global symbol of faith, has once again been targeted with a bomb threat. On Saturday afternoon, a threatening email—alleging the use of RDX to blow up the shrine—was received for the seventh time in just six days, triggering heightened alerts among security forces and widespread concern among devotees.

Key Accused Remains Untraceable

In a major development, the Cyber Cell has taken Shubham Dubey, a private engineer from Faridabad, Haryana, into custody for questioning. Authorities have seized his laptop and mobile phone for forensic analysis. However, investigators have not yet confirmed whether he is directly involved in the threat or acting as part of a larger network.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated, “The investigation is moving forward swiftly.” While Shubham Dubey is being interrogated, we have not yet identified the individuals or group behind the threatening emails. So far, no conclusive evidence has emerged that reveals the full extent of the plot.”

SGPC Raises Alarm Over Ongoing Threats

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which manages Harmandir Sahib, has expressed serious concern over the repeated threats. Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mann stated on Friday that they have been receiving threatening emails continuously for the past five days.

“We’re unaware of the motive behind these messages. However, the pattern indicates a deeper conspiracy. This does not appear to be the work of a lone individual,” Mann said. He appealed to the authorities to strengthen security within the premises to safeguard all visitors and religious personnel.

Devotee Safety Now the Top Priority

With lakhs of devotees visiting the shrine daily, the threats have triggered an atmosphere of fear among pilgrims and locals alike. Law enforcement agencies have ramped up security, deploying bomb squads, sniffer dogs, and anti-terror units in and around the temple complex.

Religious Sites Under Threat: A National Concern

Security experts have warned that repeated threats to a religious landmark of such importance pose not only a threat to public safety but also to communal harmony and national integrity. In response, central agencies, including the NIA and cyber forensics units, have now joined the investigation to track the source and intent behind the emails.

Investigation Broadens: Digital Footprints Under Scrutiny

Sources within the police department revealed that the digital background of the detained engineer is being thoroughly examined. His online activity, including email usage and app data, is being closely analyzed to determine potential connections to extremist organizations or criminal networks.

Officials have not ruled out the possibility that the emails may be a tactic to spread panic rather than signal an imminent attack. However, they stressed that no threat to such a sacred place can be taken lightly.

Authorities on Alert, Search for Mastermind Intensifies

The case has become a high-stakes test for Punjab Police and national security agencies. While an arrest has been made, the prime conspirators remain unidentified. The SGPC’s concerns over the safety of pilgrims are valid, and more arrests and revelations are expected as the investigation unfolds. Until then, law enforcement remains on high alert to ensure peace and security in the region.
