Kolkata: Political turmoil has once again intensified in the politics of West Bengal. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari has launched a major attack on Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, claiming that he has got the list of properties of Abhishek Banerjee and the company associated with him. Shubhendu Adhikari said that investigation of these properties will be started soon. After this statement, a new controversy has arisen in Bengal politics.

Which company's name came under investigation?

According to reports, a private company named 'Leaps and Bounds' has come under the scanner. It is being claimed that this company is linked to Abhishek Banerjee. Allegations are being made that this company may be related to the alleged teacher recruitment scam. However, Abhishek Banerjee and Trinamool Congress have rejected these allegations calling them a complete political conspiracy.

What did Subhendu Adhikari claim?

Addressing BJP workers in Falta, Shubhendu Adhikari said that he had ordered some files from Kolkata Municipal Corporation. According to him, they have received details of about 24 properties which are allegedly linked to Abhishek Banerjee or his company. The officer said that now these properties will be investigated and the entire matter will be made public.

What is being searched in the municipal records?

According to sources, it has been said that engineers and officials of Kolkata Municipal Corporation have been busy checking the property records for the last few days. It is being said that the officials have been asked to collect information about the properties registered in the name of Abhishek Banerjee, his family and the companies associated with him. After this, the building construction department is also investigating whether the maps of the concerned properties were passed as per the rules or not.

In the politics of Bengal, there have been allegations and counter-allegations between BJP and Trinamool Congress regarding corruption and alleged properties. The investigation by central agencies regarding teacher recruitment scam, coal smuggling and other matters has already been in the news. BJP has been continuously accusing Trinamool leaders of corruption, while TMC has been calling these allegations an act of political vendetta.

On behalf of Abhishek Banerjee, it has been said that all the allegations being made against him are baseless. TMC leaders say that the BJP government is making such statements to create political pressure.
