National News: A massive explosion at a chemical plant in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday morning led to a catastrophic fire, killing 10 workers and injuring more than 20. The blast, which occurred in the reactor unit of the Seegachi Chemicals factory in Pashamylaram Industrial Area, sent shockwaves across the region. Rescue operations are ongoing, with many workers in critical condition. Authorities have initiated a full investigation into the cause of the explosion.

Fireball Engulfs Entire Factory

The explosion erupted from the chemical reactor, instantly triggering a fierce blaze that consumed the entire factory. The blast was so intense that it blew off a part of the building, scattering debris across the compound. Flames soared high, visible from a distance, while thick black smoke billowed into the sky. Many workers were trapped amid the chaos, with emergency responders rushing to pull them out. Some laborers reportedly suffered burns beyond recognition.

Terrifying Impact Shakes Locals

Residents in nearby villages reported hearing a deafening sound followed by earth tremors. Panic spread quickly as people feared a major disaster. Eye-witnesses said the blast threw workers nearly 100 meters away from the epicenter. Screams of pain and cries for help echoed across the premises. Locals immediately called emergency services while some rushed in to help with rescue efforts. Several bystanders live-streamed the fire, which soon went viral.

Firefighters Battle Raging Flames

Four fire engines reached the site within minutes and began dousing the flames. It took hours of continuous spraying to bring the fire under control. Ambulances and medical teams, including 108 emergency responders, arrived promptly. Injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital in Tancheeru, while those in serious condition were referred to Hyderabad. Some rescuers reportedly suffered from smoke inhalation but were treated on-site.

Collapsed Building Traps Victims

The force of the explosion caused the building’s structure to collapse partially, raising fears that more workers might be trapped under the rubble. Officials suspect several victims may have been burnt alive before help could arrive. Teams began clearing the debris while drones were used to assess the damage. District authorities immediately cordoned off the area and urged civilians to stay away for safety reasons.

Over 100 Workers On Site

According to locals, the plant typically employs more than 100 laborers, many from neighboring states. The factory is known for producing powdered compounds used in pharmaceuticals. As news of the incident spread, families of workers arrived in large numbers, crowding outside the facility. Authorities deployed police to manage the situation and assist in identifying victims.

Probe Ordered Into Tragedy

Telangana officials have ordered an inquiry into the incident, citing possible negligence in safety protocols. The factory has been temporarily sealed, and its license status is under review. Rescue teams continued searching through the evening, hoping to find survivors. State ministers assured compensation for victims’ families and strict action if lapses are proven. The industrial belt is under scrutiny, with calls rising for tighter chemical safety standards.
