National News: After a recent horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence on Tuesday. In this meeting, the current status of national security was reviewed in depth. The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and heads of the three armies.

This meeting has been called at a time when the Central Government is preparing for the Cabinet Committee (CCS) on security, which takes the most important decisions related to the security of the country. This review meeting is being considered as a reflection of the government's policy of 'zero tolerance' towards terrorism.

Pahalgam attack: 26 citizens died, Lashkar branch takes responsibility

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April shook the entire country. A total of 26 innocent citizens lost their lives in this attack. Branch 'The Resistance Front' associated with banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba has taken responsibility for this attack. Security forces have started a large -scale search operation in search of five terrorists.

Proof of Pakistan's role, shared internationally

According to government sources, Indian intelligence agencies have gathered concrete evidence of Pakistan's involvement in this attack. These evidences have been shared with diplomats from America, Russia, China, Japan and European countries. India has clarified on international forums that Pakistan sponsored terrorism has now become a global threat and collective action against it is necessary.

Indo-Pak relationship increased tension

After the attack, there has been further bitterness between India and Pakistan in diplomatic relations. India has suspended visa processes, the Shimla Agreement is being reviewed and the Indus Water Treaty has also been rethinking the possibility of reconsideration. India has made it clear that bilateral talks are not possible until Pakistan keeps sheltering terrorists.

Prime Minister Modi's strict message

After the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country is not going to bow down to terrorism. He reiterated, "No compromise will be made with India's security. The nefarious plans of terrorism will not be allowed to succeed at any cost." The PM also said that the country is ready to take every necessary steps to protect its citizens.

Preparation for next step

It is clear from the meeting and the tough stance of the government that in the coming time, more strict and decisive action can be taken against terrorism. Security agencies have been kept on alert and anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir are being intensified.
