National News: When the Turki and Azerbaijan supported Pakistan in support of the terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and the Operation Sindoor run by India, it is also clearly visible on the Indian tourism sector. A large number of Indian tourists and tour operators have started cancelling bookings of these two countries. Not only this, now people are turning to tourist places of the country instead of abroad.
RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka has reacted sharply to this entire incident. He said that the Indian tourists had given tourism business of more than Rs 4000 crore to Turki and Azerbaijan last year, but these countries supported Pakistan, stabbing India. Now the time has come for Indian tourists to boycott these countries completely.
The country's famous tour companies have also supported this national spirit. KMC Holidays and Offshore Pvt. Ltd. Director of Kiran Bhoir said that after Operation Sindoor, many customers themselves are coming to cancel the booking. He said that Turkiyas and Azerbaijan were first considered cheap options, but now the security and self -respect of the country has become paramount.
Isha Tour founder Atmaram Parab said that even though India had given a lot of help during the earthquake in Turki, the attitude of the people there has always been hostile. Now the situation is such that tourists themselves are starting to distance them from these countries.
Instead of abroad, tourists are now turning to the southern and north-eastern states of India. Northeast India, known for its natural beauty and cultural diversity, is now becoming a favourite option. However, expensive flights and hotel rates still remain a major challenge.
Prominent companies like Make My Trip and Ease My Trip have reported that tour booking for Turkas and Azerbaijan has declined by 60% in the last one week, while the number of cancelled booking has seen a 250% increase. Prashant Pitti, co-founder of EazeMyTrip, said they are suggesting options like Greece, Armenia to customers and are together in a boycott campaign against Turki-Azerbaijan.
The attitude of Indian tourists is now clear - the country which will stand with anti -India forces, neither money nor step. The spirit of "national interest" is now clearly visible in tourism.
