New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory for Thursday, warning commuters of continued traffic restrictions and diversions across central Delhi due to the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.

What did the Delhi Traffic Police advise?

The Delhi Traffic Police on Thursday issued an elaborate advisory for the summit, warning of extensive diversions and regulated movement due to VVIP convoys involving heads of state, ministers, and international delegates.

Due the summit the traffic flow was very slow in and around diplomatic and central administrative zones on Wednesday, according to officials. 

Police in the Thursday traffic advisory said that special traffic arrangements will be in place from 7:30 am to 10:00 am and again from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, owing to multiple VVIP movements scheduled at Bharat Mandapam, the airport, and other key locations.

Taking to X, the Delhi Traffic Police advised the commuters to plan their journeys in advance, avoid affected stretches, and follow directions of traffic personnel on duty. Motorists have been urged to avoid the listed stretches “wherever possible” and to factor in extra buffer time.

Which areas will be impacted?

According to the advisory, traffic will remain impacted on, Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Janpath, Windsor Place, Tees January Marg, Prithviraj Road, Rajesh Pilot Marg and Subrahmanyam Bharti Marg. Other roads likely to see an impact include Mathura Road (between Lodhi Flyover and Dr Dinesh Chandra Dalmia Chowk), Bhairon Marg, Shanti Path (between R/A Satya Marg and R/A Kautilya Marg), Africa Avenue, Satya Marg (between R/A Yashwant Place and Shanti Path), Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Gurugram Road and Parade Road.

Police said traffic regulations and diversions will remain in place around Bharat Mandapam and adjoining diplomatic and central Delhi areas.

Any alternate routes to avoid congestion?

Depending on traffic flow and destination, Delhi Traffic Police suggested several alternate routes to reduce congestion and keep travel smoother, which include San Martin Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Lodhi Road, Barapullah Road, Ring Road, Tilak Marg, Feroz Shah Road, Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg, K Kamraj Marg, South Avenue Road, Vandemataram Marg, NH-48 (Rao Tula Ram Marg), Old Delhi–Gurugram Road, and UER-II & NH-48 Service Road.

Who will address today? 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Thursday, which will also feature speeches by French President Emmanuel Macron and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The five-day summit will see the participation of Heads of State, Heads of Government, Ministers, foreign delegates, and representatives of international organisations.
