New Delhi: Dense fog was observed in Delhi on Monday morning, reducing visibility to 100 meters in areas like Palam and Safdarjung. Delhi's average air quality index was recorded at 210, which falls in the poor category. According to the Meteorological Department, partly cloudy conditions will prevail in Delhi and the NCR until February 8th. Fog may also cause disruptions in the morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted fog in various parts of Delhi-NCR tomorrow, Tuesday.

What is weather alert for fog tomorrow?

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for moderate fog in many places and dense fog in some areas tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3rd. Partly cloudy conditions will prevail during the day. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate fog in the morning on February 4th and 5th. Partly cloudy conditions are also expected on both days. Cold winds are expected to blow at a speed of 5 to 10 kilometers per hour from February 3rd to 5th.

What about cold winds?

The Meteorological Department has predicted that a Western Disturbance is likely to hit the Western Himalayas on February 5th. This will also affect the weather in Delhi. Due to slower wind speeds expected over the next two days, little improvement in air quality is anticipated. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average levels of PM10 and PM2.5 in Delhi-NCR on Monday evening at 4 PM were 166 and 94 micrograms per cubic meter, respectively. This is approximately 1.75 times the permissible limit.
