IMD Weather Alert: 21 States on Rain Watch Today, Stormy Winds Up to 75 Kmph Expected

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain, thunder and strong winds in many areas of North India, Eastern India and Central India on August 18. There is a possibility of waterlogging and traffic disruption in some areas due to heavy rains. In the latest bulletin of IMD, there is a possibility of rain in many areas including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 18, the impact of rain and storm may be seen in many parts including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and some northeastern states. There is a possibility of heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh during August 18-19.

Delhi and surrounding areas may witness rain and thundershowers on August 18. IMD has predicted rain in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during August 17-18. People are advised to avoid open spaces, weak structures and under trees during strong winds.

Rain activities may increase in Uttar Pradesh, especially in the eastern parts. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 18 and 19. The weather is expected to remain active in western Uttar Pradesh also.

Rain activities may continue in Punjab from 17 to 19 August. There is a possibility of rain in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 17-18 August. Eastern parts of Rajasthan may receive heavy rain on August 20-21.
