30 September Weather Update: Bay of Bengal Cyclone Threat, 65 KM Winds and Heavy Rain in UP-Bihar

New Delhi: The last day of September can bring major changes in the weather in many parts of the country. Monsoon has started withdrawing from some states, but due to the sea disturbance in the Bay of Bengal, many areas may see rain, storm and strong winds. According to the Meteorological Department, a weather alert has been issued in 22 states of the country on September 30.   

Marine activities are intense near the Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Myanmar-Bangladesh. Due to its effect, there may be rain with thunder and strong winds in many states. The wind speed in maritime areas is likely to reach 65 kilometres per hour.

Will there be rain and strong wind in Delhi-NCR today?

There is a possibility of change in the weather in Delhi-NCR on September 30. The sky may remain cloudy and it may rain in some areas. Wind gusts are expected at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour.

Due to rain the temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 33 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 22 degrees Celsius. Change in weather can also be seen in Noida and Ghaziabad.

Is there an alert of heavy rain in these districts of UP?

The effect of rain and storm can be seen in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on September 30. There is a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm at some places in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and Gorakhpur.

During this period, winds can blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour. The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be 32 degrees and minimum 23 degrees Celsius.   

What will be the impact of rain and storms in Bihar?

The weather may change in many areas of Bihar on Wednesday. Moderate rain and thunderstorm have been predicted in Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Supaul, Araria, Munger, Khagaria and Bhagalpur.

A situation of lightning can also occur during rain. The maximum temperature in Patna is expected to be 33 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 24 degrees Celsius.    

Will winds blow at a speed of 80 KM in Rajasthan?

The weather may remain quite active in Rajasthan on the last day of September. There is a warning of rain and thunderstorm in Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Bikaner, Ajmer, Sikar, Pali and Udaipur.

In some areas the wind speed can reach 70 to 80 kilometres per hour. The maximum temperature in Jaipur is expected to be 33 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 22 degrees Celsius.   

Will the weather change in Punjab-Haryana also?

There is an alert of rain and storm in many districts of Punjab including Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Barnala and Faridkot. Winds can blow at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of cloudy sky and intermittent rain in some parts.

The effect of clouds and rain can also be seen in many parts of Haryana. There is a possibility of change in weather in areas adjacent to Delhi like Gurugram and Faridabad.   

Is there a risk of landslides with rain in hilly states?

In Uttarakhand, there is an alert of heavy rain and strong winds in Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pauri Garhwal and Rishikesh. Wind speed can reach 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.

There is also a warning of rain and storm in Mandi, Chamba, Kinnaur, Kullu, Solan, Hamirpur, Kangra and Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of roads being affected due to rain in hilly areas and problems increasing in landslide areas.  

Will there be heavy rain in Northeast and South India also?

In Northeast India, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There may be a situation of lightning along with thunder at many places. Due to continuous rain, the risk of waterlogging and local landslides may also increase.    

There is a possibility of heavy rain in many areas in South India including Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. In some areas, winds may blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Strong wind gusts along with lightning are expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Odisha.
