Islamabad: The comments of former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit are in discussion regarding the serious incident that took place on the flydubai flight going from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Basit, who was the former High Commissioner of Pakistan in India, said in a programme of a Pakistani news channel about this incident that the way it is being presented, a comedy film can be made on it.
During the TV programme, the anchor asked Basit whether there was actually an attempt to hijack the Flydubai flight or if the matter was something else. On this Basit said that a film should be made on this incident and according to him it could be a comedy film. He said that he sees more 'comedy' in the way the incident is being presented by Israel and India.
Basit was seen laughing several times during the statement. He also said that thankfully there was no major tragedy in this incident. After this he claimed that some big institutions of international media are also raising questions on the theory presented by Israel and the statements made by India. This is his claim, which has not been independently confirmed in this report.
According to reports, during a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, an Omani co-pilot attacked Indian Captain Smit Machchhar in the cockpit and allegedly tried to take control of the plane. The captain took charge of the situation and played a role in keeping the aircraft safe.
Investigations and claims from different parties are coming forward regarding this incident. In such a situation, Abdul Basit's comment has created a new controversy regarding this matter.
