Puducherry: Two players from the Delhi Under-23 cricket team have been accused of serious misconduct (sexual harassment) involving a minor girl during an Under-23 tournament being held in Puducherry. This incident has raised serious questions about the disciplinary system of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
According to reports, the two players representing Delhi are facing serious allegations of molesting and harassing a 15-year-old minor girl. This incident has caused a stir in the cricket world and within the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The Delhi Under-23 team had gone to Puducherry to participate in the Under-23 cricket tournament, where, according to reports, the victim has accused the players of inappropriate behavior at the hotel. According to a report in Dainik Jagran, citing Delhi and District Cricket Association sources, after receiving the complaint against the players, they were removed from the team hotel and shifted to another location. The names of the accused players have not yet been made public, as the case involves a minor and confidentiality is being maintained.
Delhi and District Cricket Association secretary Amit Grover has stated that it is only a matter of discipline, but not a serious matter like molestation. He said that the DDCA has initiated an internal inquiry and strict action will be taken if found guilty. However, this incident has raised questions about the DDCA's supervision and the behavior of the players, as it has severely damaged the image of Delhi cricket. The Delhi and District Cricket Association has taken cognizance of the matter and immediately ordered an investigation. A senior official of the association said that such conduct by the players will not be tolerated at all.
