Sports News: Neeraj Chopra reaffirmed his status as a global javelin icon by securing a commanding victory at the 2025 Paris Diamond League. With a remarkable throw of 88.16 meters, the Olympic champion not only topped the podium but also avenged his recent defeats to Germany’s Julian Weber, who had outperformed him in the previous two outings.

Dominance from the Very First Throw

Neeraj took the lead right from the outset. His first attempt of 88.16 meters placed him firmly at the top, and no other competitor managed to surpass this mark throughout the event. His second throw reached 85.10 meters, followed by three consecutive fouls. In his final attempt, he managed 82.89 meters, but by then, the title was already in his grasp.

Weber Falls Short as Neeraj Avenges Past Defeats

Germany’s Julian Weber, who had defeated Neeraj in the last two events, secured second place with a solid 87.88-meter throw in his opening attempt. However, this time, the Indian champion responded with grit and precision, reclaiming his dominance on the field.

Brazil’s Luiz Mauricio da Silva earned the third position with a best effort of 86.62 meters. Despite the presence of five elite throwers from the prestigious 90-meter club, none could match the power and consistency of the Indian superstar.
