New Delhi: Rain has become an obstacle in the Indian team's victory in the first ODI match between India and New Zealand. Play was stopped in the 11th over due to rain. India had bundled out New Zealand for 185 runs. After this, India has scored 54 runs in 10.5 overs after losing one wicket.

After this, if the match is held now and the number of overs is reduced, then what will be India's revised target and what will be India's par score according to the DLS method i.e. Duckworth Lewis Stern method? Can the Indian team win now? Know the answers to all these questions.

India's revised target will be 167 runs

First, if the second innings of this match is shortened by 10 overs due to rain, India's revised target will be 167 runs in 40 overs. If 20 overs are cut from the match, India will have a target of 137 runs to win in 30 overs. Furthermore, if 30 overs are cut from the match due to rain, India's target will be 92 runs. For a result in an ODI match, the second innings must consist of at least 20 overs.

DLS method will not be applied here

At the same time, if the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method is applied in this match, then India will not win immediately. In this match, New Zealand scored 185 runs for the loss of all wickets, and India has scored 54 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 10.5 overs.

India seems to be in a position to win the match, but for now, the DLS method will not be applied here and India will not be able to win, because in a One Day International match, if a team has played the full 50 overs in the first innings or has lost all the wickets, then in the second innings, the rule is that you must bat at least 20 overs.

India has not batted for 20 overs in this match. If rain prevents the match from being played, it will be abandoned and declared a draw. However, if the match is played and rain occurs after the 20th over, and India's score reaches 47 for 1, 59 for 2, 73 for 3, and 91 for 4, then India will win. As of now, the match will be declared a draw.
